PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For this project I was tasked with redesigning the entire UX of JTV.com’s sister site, JTV Auctions. The company asked me to go through and decide where I felt changes could be made, so I put myself in the shoes of the user and started shopping! Immediately, I found problems on both mobile and desktop. Simple things like unaligned text, all the way to major usability problems like the inability to leave the filter menu, were dragging down the user experience of the website. I worked on this project for the entirety of my internship, and the end product left the company extremely satisfied with the usability and design of their website!
PROBLEM / CHALLENGES
The biggest challenge of this project was making sure I didn’t change too much. As I stated previously, I put myself in the user’s shoes. That being said, I set out to make improvements with the intention to not majorly change any user flows, and if I did, I would ensure it was easy to understand. An example of this is the filter menu, although it is completely different than it used to be, it was simple and familiar enough for the user to quickly understand.
